Ligne de fuite / geste

«Ligne de fuite» est un geste artistique formalisé par une ligne sinueuse, jaune et discontinue à travers la ville d’Avignon. Éphémère, elle a été réalisée avec de la craie en spray à l’aide de pochoirs avec 116 complices sur un parcours de 7,5 kilomètres, traversant Avignon du Sud au Nord, à travers les quartiers variés qui constituent la ville. Le titre «Ligne de fuite» fait référence à la construction de la perspective en art et aussi au concept d’invention de notre devenir par Félix Guattari et Gilles Deleuze dans « Mille plateaux ».

“Ligne de fuite” (literally “line of flight” or “vanishing line”) is an artistic gesture traced as a sinuous, discontinuous yellow line running through the city of Avignon. Ephemeral by nature, it was produced using spray chalk and stencils with the participation of 116 accomplices along a 7.5-kilometre route crossing the city from south to north, moving through the diverse neighbourhoods that shape its urban landscape.
The title Ligne de fuite refers both to the construction of perspective in art and to the philosophical notion of the “line of flight,” developed by Félix Guattari and Gilles Deleuze in A Thousand Plateaus, evoking processes of escape, transformation, and the invention of new trajectories.
