Dérivation / Déviation

L’installation « Dérivation / Déviation » est la réactivation d’une installation réalisée en 2019 au Somail, pour le parcours d’art contemporain « Horizons d’Eaux #3 », imaginé par les Frac Occitanie le long du Canal du midi.
En drains agricoles jaune et noir, l’installation initiale « Dérivation » s’est développée et propagée pour l’exposition « recyclage/surcyclage » de la Fondation Villa Datris. Le drain agricole que je détourne depuis plusieurs années évoque l’idée de flux, de connexions, de conductions, de passages et de traversées. L’élaboration en lien avec le verre de cette création in situ a été un vrai labyrinthe mental que l’on retrouve dans la forme finale. Les formes entrelacées se reflètent, rejoignent par transparence celles qui apparaissent de l’autre côté, dialoguent avec l’architecture. « Dérivation/Déviation » invite à se perdre entre les différents niveaux de perception et dans un cheminement infini de l’imaginaire.

« Derivation / Deviation » is the reactivation of a 2019 installation produced in at Le Somail, for the « Horizons d’Eaux #3 » contemporary art path, devised by the Frac Occitanie along the Canal du Midi. Using yellow and black agricultural drains, the initial « Derivation » installation was developed and propagated for the « recycling/surcycling » exhibition at the Villa Datris Foundation. The agricultural drain that I’ve been hijacking for several years now evokes the idea of flows, connections, conductions, passages and crossings. Working with the glass in this site-specific creation was a real mental labyrinth, which is reflected in the final form. The intertwined shapes are reflected, and are joined by transparency to those that appear on the other side, interacting with the architecture. « Derivation/Deviation » invites us to lose ourselves between the different levels of perception and in an infinite journey of the imagination.
